ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. Fiscal and Production Responsibility

  1. Ensure adequate production quantity and quality to achieve company goals.

  2. Manage the mix of therapeutic specialty and source production to optimize production volumes and profitability.

  3. Monitor cost effectiveness to minimize costs, without sacrificing quality.

  4. Act as a liaison between Center Managers and Headquarters to ensure effective communication flow and ensure adequate production reporting.

  5. Work with Center Managers to solve problems and improve center operations.

  6. Work with Center Managers to develop cost and production budgets.

  7. Manage operations to attain fiscal targets.

  8. Assess effectiveness of operations processes and recommend improvements.

  9. Coordinate production of hyperimmune programs. Assist with marketing and testing programs to recruit potential donors for specialty programs. Assess effectiveness of Center programs, including donor and titer management and advise as necessary.

B. Center Management Coordination:

  1. Work with Training Group to ensure uniform training and guidance to center management at all centers to promote consistency in operations among donor centers.

  2. Ensure that all center management maintain competency in all aspects of donor center management.

  3. Work with Training Staff to verify that center management and all center personnel are adequately trained prior to implementation of new or revised procedures, programs and practices.

  4. Monitor and attend center staff meetings and management meetings on a periodic basis.

  5. Along with regulatory, provide support and assistance (on- or off-site) as needed to donor centers during inspections by customers and regulatory agencies.

  6. Assist in the review of SOPs related to donor center operation and revise as needed.

a. Test written procedures by observation of "hands-on" practice or performance of procedure.

b. Test written procedures by comparison to current practices.

  1. Assist Quality Department to investigate, correct and document Non-Conformance Reports, Post Donation Reports, Error and Accident Reports and Complaints.

C. Staffing/Human Resources

  1. Review scheduling of all centers to ensure that staffing meets the requirements of production but meets overall expense goals. Ensure that staffing meets goals set for maintaining required employee metrics and for minimizing overtime.

  2. Work with Center Management to ensure adequate coverage at all centers for scheduled vacations, implementation projects or other planned activities.

  3. Assist center management in resolving staffing and hiring issues.

  4. In accordance with corporate policies, assist in approving the hiring of new staff and adding of headcount.

  5. Assist in the development and/or management of performance evaluations of employees and ensure that employment increase requests are managed in accordance with performance and/or contract.

  6. Provide support and assistance for resolution to personnel issues, problems, etc.

D. Assume other responsibilities as directed by Management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. B.S. or B.A. degree preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Relocation flexibility is preferred.

  2. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  3. Experience managing people.

  4. Knowledge of operations and business processes.

  5. A strong and highly motivated leader and manager.

  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time.

  2. Ability to lift or carry at least 25 lbs.

  3. Be able to bend, stoop or kneel.

  4. Be able to travel by plane and/or car to donor centers.

  5. Occupational exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens.

  6. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear.

  7. The employee is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or kneel.

  8. Employee should have ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -30C for short periods of time.

  9. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
