Liberty Healthcare Corporation Respiratory Therapist (8 - 16 hours weekly) in United States

Respiratory Therapists are encouraged to consider an outstanding part-time position with Liberty Healthcare at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (DHCI).

DHCI is a 110-bed nursing home, with both skilled and intermediate care beds, located in Smyrna, Delaware – 40 minutes south of Wilmington.

As a Respiratory Therapist with Liberty at DHCI, your responsibilities will primarily involve:

  • Administering respiratory therapy services to DCHI residents in accordance with physician orders

  • Recommending treatment plans that meet individual resident needs and goals

  • Administering inhalants, therapeutic gas, environmental control systems, aerosol generators and other respiratory equipment

  • Performing bronchopulmonary drainage and assisting with breathing exercises

  • Rapidly responding to code situations

  • Evaluating effects of respiratory therapy treatment and recommending adjustments as necessary

  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses and ancillary clinicians

  • Training staff in respiratory treatments and procedures

  • Documenting treatment services
