Red Hat Senior Infrastructure Architect - Telco in Mexico
Job Summary:
The Red Hat Latin America (LATAM) Services team is looking for a Telco Senior Architect to join us. In this role, you will expand our partner ecosystem in the telecommunications (telco) market, working with strategic telco partners to adopt and implement Red Hat’s solutions portfolio. You'll work with the Partner Solutions and Strategy team and Red Hat’s partners to bring jointly developed technology solutions to market. You will work with our global telco team of solutions architects, business development managers, and sales executives to disrupt the telco market and become a trusted advisor to global telco operators as they revolutionize their networks and service offerings, using Red Hat technologies as their next generation infrastructure.
What you will do:
Win the confidence of our prospective customers through the successful delivery of discovery, analysis, and design workshops that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions to align with the Red Hat solution
Design and scope delivery projects as well as leading consulting teams through successful customer pilot and production deployments
Design, create, and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell (presales), service (consulting), and support our network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions at scale
Work closely with product business units, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales teams to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat’s products
Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk
Demonstrate thought leadership in the Telco community by producing world-class whitepapers, webinars, etc., and speaking at industry leading conferences
Design and advocate solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods
Implement and integrate Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud technologies, including Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, etc.
Develop and implement automation and integration for our customers' cloud and system infrastructure solutions
Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including high and low level design, test strategy, acceptance test plan, quality assurance (QA), and ticket or bug management
What you will bring:
Deep knowledge of telco industry, market trends, architectures, services, operational needs, and technology adoption of the communication service providers
Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies, e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, software-defined storage, automation, etc.
Experience in Linux operating system, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Solid background in consultative customer engagements with either a major systems integrator, a network equipment provider, or a telco services provider
Background in designing and delivering implementations using cloud infrastructure technologies and providers, e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Virtualization or KVM, VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Rackspace Cloud Services, Microsoft Azure or any other HyperScaler
Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior telco IT and business executives
Experience interacting with partners and navigating the complexities of integration
Ability to study on your own and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
Experience using agile methodologies
Specific knowledge of mobile (5G RAN/CORE, IMS) and fixed networks (e.g., architectures, service models, and service provisioning)
Specific knowledge of the network functions virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) areas including benefits, technologies, key vendors, and use cases
The following are considered a plus:
Conversational Spanish or Portuguese as a second language
Understanding of advanced networking concepts (e.g., data center and wide area networking, tunneling technologies and overlay networking, security policies, topology discovery, path computation)
Familiarity with technologies like Open VSwitch, OpenFlow, TCP/IP, Ethernet, 802.1Q, GRE, VXLAN, L2VPN, MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of major industry standards, including TMF, TNM, ETSI, ITU, 3GPP, ONF, ONRF, etc.
Deep understanding of ETSI NFV architecture and the telco main use cases, e.g., vCPE, vEPC, vCDN, vIMS, vRAN, MEC, SBA Architecture, MANO Framework, etc.
Excellent understanding or participation in OPNFV, OSM, ONAP, CNTT, Telecom Infra Project and O-RAN Alliance
Deep knowledge of telecom technologies, industry trends like network architectures, and technologies and services used in wireline, wireless, and cable operators
