The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer who is looking for an opportunity use their software development skills in a different way to join us. Quality Engineers at Red Hat are not just testers, they are developers who design and automate creative ways to break software to identify potential problems. In this role, you will work with Red Hat’s complete portfolio of offerings and related technologies, including virtualization, cloud, middleware, and storage. You will interpret test requirements for multi-product customer use cases and develop innovative automated solutions for testing real-world customer workflows in test environments containing multiple integrated Red Hat’s offerings. You’ll need to have development capabilities in Linux and testing and automation experience in complex systems. What you will do
Participate in the test planning and product planning processes.
Develop test cases and maintain a thorough understanding of product functionality.
Develop automated tests using Python.
Contribute to test automation framework.
Contribute to test tooling projects related to deploying test environments/infrastructure, automating test pipelines, reporting test results, etc.
Integrate your tests into a continuous delivery pipeline.
Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner.
Write clear and accurate bug reports.
What you will bring
Passion and desire for testing and examining how things work internally.
US Citizen Required
Experience with Linux/UNIX systems -- you are comfortable working on a *nix based system and you know your way around the shell prompt.
Demonstrated comfort with scripting/programming using Python or Go.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and/or Jenkins
Experience with Git or other source control technologies.
Experience developing automated system/integration tests.
Strong written and spoken English skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced project.
Experience with the following are considered a plus:
Experience in a compliance restricted environment (PCI, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
Experience using and/or participating in open source projects.
