Red Hat Software Engineer in United States

About the job

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will help in the creation of web services related to the operation and management of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. You will serve as an active contributor to the mission of the group. Due to the very dynamic nature of multiple emerging technologies being worked on at Red Hat, you’ll need to have an ability to adapt to changing strategies and priorities. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

  • Work as part of a group of highly skilled software developers

  • Develop software using a range of frameworks and technologies, primarily based on Go

  • Work with all relevant Red Hat’s functions to design, implement, debug, and document new web services solutions

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent 3+ years of software development experience

  • Solid analytical and programming skills

  • Expertise in software development using one or more object-oriented programming (OOP) languages like Python; Go is a plus

  • Experience designing and building Web Services

  • Experience with the creation of open source software (OSS) and with containerized software development

  • Experience with the creation of database-backed applications; PostgreSQL is a plus

  • Comfortable developing in and configuring a Linux environment
