Sr. Graphic Designer & Visual Brand Specialist

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a knowledgeable Sr. Graphic Designer & Visual Brand Specialist to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ, Lansdowne, VA, or Washington, DC office on a temporary basis through June 2025. As the Sr. Graphic Designer & Visual Brand Specialist, you are a vital part of the Communications Team. In this temporary role, you will report to the Director of Creative Services and are responsible for supporting ADF’s mission and objectives with graphic design work and oversight consistent with ADF’s brand and quality standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of graphic design styles and layout techniques and display excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide design rationales and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders. Ultimately, you will help ensure that the design team promotes the ADF brand well by delivering high-quality pieces on tight deadlines.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Review the work of other designers to ensure high-quality deliverables that are aligned with brand and production standards and that follow best practices

  • Assist the Director of Creative Services in assessing the universe of visual materials and make recommendations for unification and consolidation

  • Create and execute visual collateral, from conception to final delivery, that conveys messages effectively and aesthetically, advancing ADF’s strategic priorities in a manner aligned with the ADF visual brand

  • Design and refine original pieces, including marketing and case campaigns and event branding

  • Contribute to developing solid design implementation policies that will protect the integrity of the brand

  • Participate in ideation meetings, bringing a working knowledge of graphic design trends, skills, and industry standards to help advise the project direction while also aligning with the overarching ADF brand

  • Ensure brand consistency throughout all creative projects

  • Showcase adaptability and good decision-making skills regarding shifting priorities

  • Inspire fresh and modern design in order to tell the ADF story beautifully

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

  • You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills you need to succeed:

Demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Branding, design principles, and techniques

  • Typography, color, and production

  • Communicating with diplomacy in a clear and concise manner when working with stakeholders and team members

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Print house terminology, paper stocks, materials, and formats available

  • Cloud services (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)

    Ability to:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools

  • Evaluate choices critically, keeping stakeholders’ needs in mind

  • Manage multiple projects, continuously evaluate priorities, and work under pressure

  • Keep up to date with industry standards and communicate design choices and direction clearly

  • Work well with others

  • Must be able to travel approximately 12 days a year

Education and/or experience:

  • 7+ years experience in graphic design and brand management with deep working knowledge of key graphic design software
