Public Buildings Service Supervisory Project Manager in United States

Summary As a Supervisory Project Manager, you will you will serve as a Branch Chief in the Project Management Division responsible for overall project management for high risk projects for the Northeast and Caribbean Region. Location of Position: GSA, Public Buildings Service, Project Management Division. This position may be filled in one of the following duty locations: NY, NY; Brooklyn, NY; OR Newark, NJ. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite within the specified geographic area. If you are selected for this position you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency’s telework policy. As a Supervisory Project Manager you will: Assist in the direction, coordination and supervision of the activities of projects program in the areas of pre-project planning, scheduling, design, estimating, construction management, construction, project execution, safety and project close-out. Plan multi-million dollar construction projects. Lead and manage the execution of projects through the supervision of a staff of project managers. Develop and direct the analysis and evaluation of projects and activities in terms of operational procedures, organization, work flow and overall effectiveness. Serve as a regional expert in the areas of his/her program management responsibility. Collaborate in making decisions regarding the procurement and management of assigned major construction projects; determines priorities, establishes required schedules, and helps decides on methods and types of contracts necessary to meet project needs. Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position Serve a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period, if required May be required to participate in the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), which includes attending meetings and planning activities; and carrying out mission-critical work at a designated location other than your primary work site (which may be outside of your commuting area). To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is applying advanced concepts, practices, and methodologies to manage large, complex new construction, modernization and lease construction projects. Such experience must reflect experience performing planning, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, cost analysis and control, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for such projects.
