Job Description
A standardized patient/medical model (SP/MM) is an individual who will act as a patient during medical/psychiatric nursing simulation training. The SP/MM will accurately portray the role of a patient are directed by the clinical faculty who evaluates nursing students' clinical competence during the simulated class activity. All simulated scenarios will be performed at the TAMIU Simulation Lab.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in a professional manner.
Simulate a realistic portrayal of a patient based on the clinical scenarios required in the nursing course(s).
Demonstrate improvisational skills when appropriate to the case scenario.
Receptive to ongoing feedback and modify performance as needed.
Perform other duties specific to the job description as need arises.
Minimum Requirements:
Education – High school diploma or GED.
Experience – No previous experience required.
May NOT be a currently enrolled student at Texas A&M International University.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in acting or academic courses taken related to film or acting.
Other Requirements:
Comfort level in acting different scenarios required for the course.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexibility with schedule to act.
Professionalism and confidentiality.
Position is Temporary, subject to funding and/or need.
Position requires a flexible schedule to work evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
