Speedway LLC Technician Quality Assurance I in United States
Responsibilities:
Performs daily pre-operation checks, which include proper cleaning and reporting any maintenance concerns to the Maintenance department
Performs quality assurance checks by enforcing GMPs, SOPs, safety policies and HACCP
Collects packages and performs tests associated with critical control point (CCP) for products such as weight, time, temperature, verifications of package code dates and magnet checks
Takes the temperature of all coolers and freezers; calibrates all thermometers on a regular basis
Prints labels required for production; verifies ingredients and packaging materials are in accordance to product specifications
Conducts product label and raw material label audits
Places product on hold if it fails to meet specifications
Performs mock recalls on ingredients, packaging and finished products
Prepares new items for testing and performs sensory testing; determines appropriate heat/temperature settings for new products and records results accordingly
Documents and maintains concise and accurate records of daily quality inspection forms; reviews paperwork and ensures it has been completed properly
Follows and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, Company protocols and applicable governmental food safety programs and procedures, e.g., SQF, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
Maintains list of allergens to avoid contamination of products
Maintains a clean and orderly work area; ensures equipment is clean and ready for use
Operates and monitors proper functioning of equipment; follows safety procedures when operating equipment, and properly sanitizes equipment and work area during and after use
Wears the applicable personal protective equipment (PPE)
Demonstrates a high value for health, environment, safety and security issues, initiatives and programs in both personal and organizational responsibilities
Integrates health, environment, safety and security into day-to-day job performance
Reports food safety and quality problems to direct supervisor immediately
Attends quality assurance meetings as needed
Completes other duties as assigned by Management
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with the Company or prior quality assurance experience preferred
Skill Requirements:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to read English
Basic math skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
Ability to operate pallet jacks
Ability to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)
Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, reaching, climbing, twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, squatting/kneeling/stooping, walking and grasping for an extended period of time
Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
