Vice President, Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the customer-facing operations of PPL in New York, including Customer Service, Provider Support, Escalations, Implementations, Enrollment, Quality Improvement, and Fulfillment.

  • Responsible for driving customer outcomes, including enrollment and activation into NY FMS

  • Leads the revenue center in the operations organization that partners with major state clients on referral projections that lead to revenue generation.

  • Leads the largest team of the six operations organization teams – the I&A team that meets with prospective consumers to provide the support necessary to become a PPL customer.

  • Implements and manages a company-wide organizational structure that maximizes productivity and effectiveness of I&A services to customers.

  • Remains abreast of national best practices, trends and developments in Information and Assistance and support brokerage, represents PPL, and its interest in national I&A forums.

  • Acts as a national subject matter expert on Information & Assistance and support broker services. Provides expert consultation both internally and to state/client partners.

  • Leads, manages, and develops the I&A team.

  • Works cross-functionally to identify, develop (if necessary), and implement best practice tools and processes to enhance the effectiveness of I&A service delivery.

  • Establishes measurement processes and success metrics for I&A services; and holding him/herself and the team accountable to achieving measurable goals.

  • Manages costs of I&A, participating in budgeting process.

  • Contributes to PPL Business Development activities, helping win new business through the creative and effective utilization of I&A services.

  • Works cross-functionally to ensure the needed support and tools are provided to the I&A team by other areas of the organization.

  • Engages in strategy development and collaborating on efforts to improve overall organizational effectiveness.

  • Provides thought leadership inside and outside the company on I&A services.

  • Represents PPL in client meetings, conferences, and other forums as needed, to support and advocate for I&A services.

  • Understands contractual requirements related to I&A services and ensures Public Partnerships’ compliance with such requirements.

  • Ensure written policies and procedures are in place and followed for I&A services staff.

  • Leads quality management, audit, and process improvement activities.

Required Skills:

  • Proven leadership, management, and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with multiple agencies and organizations.

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with federal, state and county agencies as well as the public.

  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Understanding of return on investment as it relates to strategies and product offerings for I&A services.

  • Ability to introduce new revenue generating and cost saving concepts pertaining to I&A services.

  • Ability to forecast cost savings and revenue opportunities based on data analytics.

  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends.

  • Cross functional matrix management in support of strategies, goals, and objectives

  • Ability to partner with other cross functional managers to ensure firm operating margins are achieved and support the efforts of the I&A team.

  • Ability to lead a team in achieving shared goals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a master’s degree preferred.

  • Area of study: Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or similar.

  • Commensurate experience is an acceptable substitute for area of study.

  • 15+ years of Senior Health Care Management Experience, preferably in service delivery through case managers or I&A providers; 5+ years of demonstrated supervisor experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting or remote.

  • Some in-state and out-of-state travel required.

  • Candidate must be based in New York.

Supervisory Responsibility (If applicable):

  • A minimum of five direct reports.
