About the job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to join our team and manage our billing, collections, and accounts receivable processes. As an Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of customer accounts, processing invoices and payments, and following up on delinquent accounts. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure that all accounts receivable processes are efficient and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
Process customer invoices and ensure that all invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
Post and reconcile customer payments, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Monitor customer accounts and follow up on delinquent accounts, escalating issues as needed.
Manage the collections process, including sending collection letters and making collection calls.
Work with the sales team to resolve any customer billing disputes.
Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, including contact information and payment history.
Generate monthly reports on accounts receivable and collections activity, highlighting any issues or trends.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts receivable balances and preparing reports for management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education or certification in accounting or finance preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and collections, preferably in a B2B environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of collections laws and regulations is a plus.
