This is a new role within the growing department and a great opportunity for someone who is driven and enjoys taking on new challenges. Job Description: Coordinates all aspects of quality assurance activities of the stroke program, together with the identification of patients for inclusion in the hospital stroke center database, data abstraction, collection and the demonstration of performance improvement required by TJC to maintain Stroke Center designations. Collaborates with all stroke team members to support data requirements along with quality and process improvement initiatives. Major Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for all data analysis and abstraction for the stroke program supporting change management and process improvement for all aspects of the stroke program. 2. Applies and appropriately uses performance enhancing tools in support of the improvement process (cause-effect diagrams, flow charts, brain storming), problem analysis (control charts, pareto charts, historgrams, run charts, financial analyses, etc.) and measurement. 3. Supports program-wide performance improvement efforts through facilitation for improvement to the stroke program. 4. Collects data and analysis data, reporting trends to the stroke team for review and action. 5. Supports processes that contribute to efficient, cost-effective care for patients who have experienced stroke. 6. Monitors and enhances the quality of data, analysis, and reporting. 7. Monitors the stroke patient clinical data registry utilizing predetermined criteria for patient inclusion. 8. Supports administrative goals of the neuroscience division and stroke program. 9. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested. 10. Maintains clinical data integrity and all of studies in accordance with federal regulations, Gundersen Institutional Review Board, HIPPA and GHS medical records policies. Education and Learning: REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or Business or Healthcare Administration or Health Information Management or Statistics or a related field DESIRED Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare/Hospital Administration or Statistics or a related field. Work Experience: REQUIRED 1 year experience with data collection and analysis along with interdisciplinary quality process improvement work. DESIRED 3 years or greater experience with statistical analysis and research methodology for quantitative and qualitative data, including data collection techniques, manipulation, transformation, analysis and interpretation of data.
