SUMMARY

Manages all activities related to assigned projects; ensures they are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, specifications, and regulatory requirements and within specific established budgetary and schedule goals and commitments. Coordinates major projects requiring complex organizational interfaces typically requiring management of a multi-organizational matrix team. Manages projects of a strategic nature with high potential impact to the Station. Oversees project and contractor activities for compliance with applicable codes and standards, quality expectations, and other technical requirements.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline. (Preferred)

• Without a degree, 5 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, engineering, or maintenance primarily focused on Turbine maintenance and project management.

EXPERIENCE

• 10 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, engineering or maintenance focused on Turbine maintenance and project management, contractor management, scheduling, with a minimum of 5 yrs. being nuclear experience. (Required)

• 2 Years supervisory experience. (Preferred)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Preferred).

• Technical disciplined OEM training as applies to Turbine projects (Preferred).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT COORDINATION - SUPERVISOR:

• Coordinates development of project baseline, refueling outage Turbine modification/maintenance and outage budgets.

• Identifies and reports on key performance indicators, specific variances, and exceptions to Turbine/owned scope.

• Identifies direct and support tasks necessary to successfully complete assigned Turbine project and coordinate tasks with the responsible departments and major vendor management.

• Coordinates development of task estimates, project budgets, cash flows and integrated schedules for multiple projects, including implementation schedule.

• Interfaces with departments and contractors, providing information to assist in achieving project budgets, schedules, and other requirements.

• Ability to identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact of these changes.

• Perform a formal challenge of Specialty OEM Services, (i.e. generator winder repair, turbine bucket/ blade repair, etc) to ensure readiness to execute scope of work.

• Ability to identify, assess, challenge and disposition technical OEM Turbine vendor services management and Engineering.

• Investigates and analyzes reported problems to determine causes and remedial/corrective actions to prevent recurrence; evaluates corrective actions proposed by others for appropriateness, applicability, and technical adequacy.

• Provides necessary contractor oversight and monitoring to assure compliance with all site requirements.

• Verifies compliance with terms and conditions and technical contract audits.

• Authorizes vendor payments based on meeting contractual requirements/milestones.

• Presents project status and issues at various forums including station employees and executive management meetings.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.

• Perform personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).

• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).

• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.

• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.

• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.

• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.

• Understands and implements company policies.

• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accept ERO position as needed.

• Accept outage position as needed.

• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up 30+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

• Inspection of work activities in all areas of the plant and power block, including ability to don normal industrial safety protective equipment and radiological protective clothing.

• Traversing obstructed areas and climbing stairs and ladders is required occasionally.

WORK LOCATION

• Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
