Job Title: Housekeeper

Job Summary

The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment within [specific type of property, e.g., hotel rooms, office spaces, or residential units]. This position includes performing various cleaning tasks, restocking supplies, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation are consistently met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Perform daily cleaning duties, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces in assigned areas.

  • Empty trash, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste.

  • Clean and restock bathrooms with supplies, such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and supply rooms.

Quality Assurance

  • Inspect and ensure all areas meet established cleanliness standards.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., broken equipment or fixtures) to the appropriate department.

  • Follow established safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.

Customer Interaction

  • Respond promptly to guest or client requests for additional cleaning or assistance.

  • Exhibit a courteous and professional demeanor during interactions with clients, guests, or team members.

Supplies and Equipment

  • Manage cleaning supplies inventory and inform supervisors of replenishment needs.

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers, ensuring they remain in good condition.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience is an asset but not required. On-the-job training may be provided.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.

  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling practices.
