Senior Energy Auditor

To facilitate program enhancement and growth, we are seeking a Senior Energy Auditor to manage field staff and conduct residential home energy assessments in accordance with utility program standards. This role is field based and include travel within Maryland.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage field auditing staff to maximize customer scheduling, workload, and pipeline.

  • Contribute to new customer acquisition tactics such as marketing, in-person events, and promotions.

  • Coordinate between program subcontractors and auditing staff to minimize customer inconvenience during scheduling.

  • Manage subcontractors to promote conversion efforts and relationship between ICF Energy Advisors and installation contractors.

  • Invoicing for Audits, HVAC Services, and Jobs.

  • Manage and track inventory of direct install measures for internal auditing staff

  • Contribute to the continued development of auditing staff by engaging in the enhancement of their audit performance and reporting productivity, building science knowledge, and customer-facing communication skills

  • Coordinate with or follow up on program Quality Assurance activities such as field inspections and customer surveys, as appropriate.

  • Conduct home energy assessments in residential homes, entering attics, basements and crawl spaces as needed.

  • Perform initial air leakage testing, and visual inspection of existing equipment, investigating the main drivers of energy consumption and comfort issues within the home, in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Install instant savings measures such as light emitting diodes (LEDs), showerheads and other energy savings devices.

  • Prepare summary reports identifying opportunities found during visit

  • Promote and encourage adoption of energy saving measures recommended in the home energy assessment.

  • Provide or refer customers to technical, administrative and financial assistance.

  • Provide information to customers on available incentives and additional resources, including scheduling assistance for comprehensive projects through program-selected installation contractors.

  • Address any customer escalations as related to energy assessments or scheduling.

  • Monitor program budgets adjusting staffing, scheduling, and operations as necessary.

  • Required travel within the service territory (Waldorf, White Plains, Hughesville, Prince Frederick and Leonardtown) up to 60% of the time for site visits, trainings and other duties

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Energy, Sustainability or related discipline

OR

  • High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of professional experience promoting energy efficiency in the residential sector and/or operations/service crews

AND

  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to install basic home items such as light bulbs, showerheads, and potentially thermostats with training

  • Able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, driving, walking, standing, above head arm movements

  • Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

What we would like you to have:

  • BPI certified Building Analyst or Energy Auditor

  • Experience with energy modeling software

  • Understanding of building science applications or construction background

  • Experience with the home improvement market in Maryland (direct experience in production, operations, or sales))

  • Advanced knowledge of residential energy-efficient technologies

  • Customer service and/or sales conversion experience

  • Experience with logistics, operations, or field service deployment

Professional skills you will use:

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal skills

  • MHIC or HVAC license a plus

  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills

  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions on one’s own and then share with a larger team

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$49,148.00 - $83,552.00
