Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in Walnut Creek, California

Description

We are in search of an Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in the East Bay, California. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing and enhancing the accounts payable process, maintaining vendor relationships, and leading a team towards operational efficiency. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including invoice and payment processing, data entry accuracy, and timely vendor payments.

• Develop and execute process improvements and automation to streamline accounts payable workflows.

• Manage the accounts payable team, including task delegation and performance monitoring.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Act as a point of contact for vendors and other stakeholders, and manage these relationships effectively.

• Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Leverage software such as Workday and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks efficiently and accurately.

• Foster a collaborative environment and work cross-functionally with the accounting and finance teams.

• Demonstrate excellent supervisory skills and take initiative in leading the team.

• Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective communication within the team and with external parties.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as an Accounts Payable Manager.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Account Reconciliation is necessary.

• Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

• Experience in maintaining vendor files is required.

• Knowledge of relevant software such as Workday, SAP, or Netsuite Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Must have previous experience in direct supervision and team management.

• Demonstrable skills in process improvement within the accounts payable function.
