job summary:
Health & Safety Specialist at a leading chemical manufacturer located near Walnut Creek, CA. This role is responsible to analyze the work environment, local culture, and policies to continuously improve Health and Safety performance. To be considered - Bachelor's Degree with at least two (2) years experience with Health & Safety within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Required Qualificiations:
Bachelor's degree (Chemical Engineering is preferred)
Must have at least two (2) years experience with Health & Safety within a chemical manufacturing environment
Knowledge of OSHA & NIOSH standards, including PSM
Familiarity with industry standards & practices (API, ASME, NFPA, etc)
Preferred:
- SAP experience

responsibilities:
Continuously analyze and improve Health and Safety performance on site at the plant
inspects the workplace for adherence to regulations on safety and health
Assist to design, implement, train employees, and audit versus compliance on programs to prevent injury and/or disease
Prepare and deliver refresher training effort for plant safety programs
Primary point of contact for regional, state, and federal H&S auditors
Manage the site Equipment Specific LOTO program
Lead Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Meetings
