JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Must hold a valid and active license in good standing as an RN in the state of Arkansas.

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.

  • At least three years of supervisory experience.

  • Must be ACLS, PALS, and CPR Certified.

  • Strong knowledge of nursing principals, practices and procedures.

  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach.

  • Experience

  • 3 years of experience as staff RN with one year experience in leadership position preferable but not required. Prior experience as a Chief Nursing Officer preferred. Demonstrates leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principles.

    JOB SUMMARY

  • The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for and supervises all nurses and nurse managers, recommends strategies to improve patient care services, and establishes quality, safety, and patient experiences goals for Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The CNO will also serve as the Accreditation & Compliance Officer for the facility. The CNO is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activity within nursing departments by being the spokesperson for nurses while planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of nursing and patient care services. The CNO ensures that all operations comply with established evidenced based clinical standards and all state and federal accreditation standards, as well as prepare and supervise annual budgets for certain clinical areas. The CNO must have knowledge of nursing process, and knowledge and skill in techniques of therapeutic patient care. The CNO must demonstrate equal competence in management and leadership skills, and demonstrate knowledge of personnel practices. The CNO must also supervise the total environment in which care is given in nursing areas, interacting with all other hospital departments.
