The Department of Computer Science at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the COSI 232b Advanced Machine Learning Methods for Natural Language Processing II (4 credits) course in Spring 2025. This is an advanced graduate-level core course exploring state-of-the-art techniques and applications in Natural Language Processing. Covers recent NLP advancements, focusing on large language models, pretrained model fine-tuning, transfer learning, and few-shot learning, and their applications in sophisticated NLP tasks such as knowledge extraction, contextual generation, and dialogue systems. The class meets 2-3 times per week. Timing is negotiable. Candidates with at least a Master\'s Degree and preferably a PhD in CL/NLP or a closely related field, and teaching and/or industry experience in state-of-the-art advancements in NLP will be given preference.
