Senior Sales Development Specialist (Raman Process Spectroscopy)

Within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Chemical Analysis Division the Senior Sales Development Specialist role carries the responsibility for market development, key account penetration, and growing the sales funnel into process analysis environments.
What we do :
Develop short and long-term Strategic and Tactical plans for growth of process spectroscopy solutions in the region. Focus will be with Raman and NIR technologies.
Drive Commercial Perfection through the deployment of robust business development activities including, weekly sales calls, utilization of customer relationship management (CRM) tools and the conversion of marketing leads to opportunities.
Engage with colleagues in Corporate Accounts, in Bioprocessing, and in Customer Channel to collaborate and make connections within key accounts, opening doors to new opportunities
Communicate bookings outlook to management and the broader organization to ensure insight into performance and timely delivery of products and services.
Engages and supports customers through technical and business presentations, tradeshows, user meetings, customer seminars and other events.
Coordinate the improvement of product demonstration workflows, samples and performance to gain an edge in the market.
Deeply understands account organizations and has ability to develop trust and valued relationships with major decision makers, clarifies goals and reaches agreement while maintaining the interests of all parties.
Individuals we are seeking :
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in chemistry, biochemistry, or engineering
Professional with experience in Commercial Sales, Applications Support, or Business Development role.
Experience with Raman &/or Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, or FT-IR spectroscopy with an understanding of how these techniques are used for both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Confirmed experience with analytical scientific instrumentation, capital equipment, and process analysis or process analytical technology (PAT)
Has broad familiarity with industries such as Bio-Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Academia.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in Business/Account development
Understanding of sophisticated capital equipment sales cycles
Hands-on knowledge of RAMAN, NIR and/or FTIR Spectroscopy
Ability to collaborate closely with people at all levels at our customer’s organization
Experience with CRM utilization (e.g. SFDC)

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $118,000.00–$165,000.00.
