Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager, Warren, MI
Position Description:
• Train and oversee electrical engineers, electricians, and technicians in wiring and running new and remanufactured testing equipment.
• Lead a team of electrical engineers, electricians, and technicians in electrical production of material testing equipment.
• Calibration of testing machine systems according to ISO 17025 specifications.
• Provide final review of completed testing equipment completed by subordinates.
• Develop schematic designs for material testing equipment.
• Create standard operating procedures for electrical department.
• Wire material testing machines.
• Responsible for electrical design for servo hydraulic and electromechanical closed loop control test systems.
• Implementation and tuning of closed looped controlled test systems with position, force and strain feedback.
• Troubleshoot testing equipment both remotely and onsite at customer facilities.
• Train customers on operation and programming of test machines.
• Perform quality control on production for closed loop controls and wiring.
• Provide final review of completed testing equipment prior to shipment.
• Research and development for continual improvement of electrical systems and components.
• Procurement of sensors, subplate components, and connectors for department.
• Review engineering specifications on drawings of test machines.
Education and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology plus four years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with responsibility for the following: 1) Schematic Development for material testing equipment 2) Machine wiring and process development on material testing equipment 3) Troubleshoot and repair of testing equipment and 4) calibrating testing machine systems according to ISO 17025 specifications. Domestic travel required (10% of time). Need proof of legal authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S.
