Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description
As a Software Engineer, you will be assigned to a team that works towards a goal from start to finish for each particular task. You will work on requirement decomposition to integration/testing on the vehicle. Most days will be spent working in a small group, individually developing solutions, or integrating with existing code bases to prepare for hardware interaction in the lab. You will load and test the software on the vehicle to ensure it functions correctly. With guidance from lead engineers, you will work on concept-to-completion projects, developing software solutions for advanced tactical and situational awareness capabilities.
Responsibilities
Decompose requirements and integrate/test on the vehicle.
Develop solutions individually or in small groups.
Integrate existing code bases and interact with hardware in the lab.
Load and test software on vehicles.
Research, identify, and adapt cutting-edge software technologies.
Maintain a cyber-secure environment while developing solutions.
Develop software for innovative information presentation and user interaction.
Integrate cutting-edge technologies into various platforms including vehicle autonomy, remote operation, power distribution, and protection systems.
Formulate architectural design, functional specifications, interfaces, and documentation of hardware or software systems.
Support technical and operational testing in the laboratory or field.
Work on the architecture of vehicle electronics, including interface management with weapon protection systems, situational awareness systems, and communication systems.
Integrate the vehicle into the electronics architecture area, working on embedded hardware, user interfaces, power distribution, and management.
Essential Skills
Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
Experience in software integration and troubleshooting on hardware benches.
Object-Oriented development skills (Java or C++).
Scripting experience.
Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix, or RTOS.
Knowledge in C4ISR, cyber security, GUI, autonomy, software architecture, and software development.
Experience with digital signal processing and microcontrollers.
GCIA certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Internship experience with a defense contractor.
Experience with Ada programming language.
Knowledge of communication protocols.
Experience in digital signal processing.
Knowledge of encryption and keys.
Work Environment
You will be part of a team wrapping up phase one of the project and heading into phase two, which involves more integration. The software is 80% complete, and you will work on integrating the software on the bench, finding and fixing bugs, and updating requirements. You will have guidance from two other software engineers. The goal is to have the project demonstrable by the end of May and completed by the end of August. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $70.00
