Job Title: System Safety Engineer
Job Description
Seeking a System Safety Engineer with a solid foundation and comprehensive understanding of engineering principles. You'll be responsible for executing System Safety development focusing on Body Controls, Occupant Protection, and other vehicle system safety domains. Your role involves leading system safety level engineering across various vehicle systems, developing safety requirements, and ensuring their implementation throughout the product development lifecycle. You will collaborate with global product teams to align with safety standards and lead risk analyses to develop safe solutions and mitigate potential safety issues.
Hard Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience in product development
Experience in developing safety systems for Body Control Modules (BCM) and Occupant Safety
Proficiency in hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, interface analysis, FMEA, and software safety analysis
Experience with embedded control systems in automotive or similar industries

Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Warren, Michigan and some days remote.
Work Environment
Hybrid work setting, with on-site presence required in Warren on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and optional work from home on Monday and Friday. Occasional travel to Milford for support in testing.
