Job Title: Sr. Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer with over 12 years of experience in building technologies and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate will be proficient in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction, and well-versed in building code requirements. Responsibilities include leading projects for new construction and renovations of existing structures, assessing existing conditions, establishing project budgets, writing detailed technical proposals and reports, and leading design efforts for various structural projects. Experience in construction or stormwater management design is a plus. The position reports to the division manager or principal in charge of the Structural Department.

Hard Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in building-related investigation and structural design

  • Broad experience in different types of construction, including timber and steel

  • Experience with Profits & Losses and QA/QC on deliverables

  • Experience in managing an internal structural engineering team

  • PE license

  • Proficiency in standard engineering software

  • Experience with structural analysis and design programs such as Tedds/Tekla Structural Designer, RISA, etc.

  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD

  • Working knowledge of IBC Codes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering

Soft Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong personal skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Warren, New Jersey.

Work Environment

The position offers a flexible work schedule, with typical hours from 8-5 but open to different times as long as 8 hours are completed. The work environment is a corporate office building, easily accessible from major highways with options for backroad commutes. The role involves 70% office work and 30% fieldwork.
