LifePoint Health Certified Surgical Technician - FT Days in Warrenton, Virginia
The Surgical Services Technician assists with the total care given by the interdisciplinary team members to the surgical patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Patient care is provided in preoperative preparation, intra - and post - operative assessments, and the planning and delivery of care.
In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Certifications:
Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) (may be obtained week of orientation)
Current credential as a Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA).
Current License to practice as a surgical technologist in the state of Virginia.
Minimum Work Experience:
Preferred:One year experience as a surgical technician in General, GYN, Urology and Orthopedic procedures.
