T & S Crop Service, Inc. Farm Equipment Mechanics in Warsaw, New York

4 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 11/02/2024- 02/01/2025.

Crops/Commodities: corn, alfalfa grass hay, soybeans, wheat.

Workers will maintain, repair, and overhaul farm equipment, machinery and vehicles, such as tractors and trucks; dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools; record details of repairs made and parts used; reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary; clean and lubricate parts; test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools; tune or overhaul engines; examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, to locate and diagnose malfunctions; repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws; drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery; fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools; repair bent or torn sheet metal; install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.

Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Workers wearing clothing inappropriate for work will not be permitted to start work.

Outdoor work required when plants are wet, or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours may vary. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Work is done outdoors for long periods of time and requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, repetitive movements, and frequent bending and/or stooping. Workers must be able to handle, lift, and carry heavy or bulky objects (product, containers) in accordance with the specified lifting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months of verifiable prior experience repairing and maintaining farm equipment, machinery and vehicles.
  • Driving requirement
  • Employer-paid pre-employment and post-hire drug testing required.
  • Clean driving record required. Must have or be able to obtain driver's license within 30 days of hire.
  • Lifting requirement of 60 lbs
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Extensive pushing/pulling, sitting/walking
  • Frequent stooping/ bending over, Repetitive movements
