Our Advanced NLP Research Group is a fast-growing team of collaborative, enthusiastic, and innovative AI researchers within the IQVIA NLP organization. We are at the forefront of IQVIA NLP's mission to advance state-of-the-art machine learning methods and generate novel insights from unstructured patient data, social media, and scientific literature to drive pharmaceutical/MedTech development and enhance care delivery from bench to bedside.
We are seeking a Senior AI Scientist to join our team of advanced researchers working to investigate emerging techniques, develop novel approaches, and disseminate findings through high-impact publications and presentations. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your deep expertise in GenAI and LLMs to conduct innovative research, contribute to the scientific community, and guide the development of advanced NLP solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, taking a research-driven approach to investigate complex problems, propose novel solutions, and rigorously validate your findings. Your responsibilities will include conducting original research, publishing in top-tier conferences and journals, presenting at scientific events, and providing scientific guidance to inform the development of cutting-edge NLP products. As a key team member, you will design and execute experiments, analyze results, and contribute to advancing the field of NLP and GenAI.
Essential Functions
Partner with internal and external clients to understand business needs, ideate LLM-powered solutions that deliver value, and implement solution development.
Conduct research to investigate novel applications of LLMs and GenAI in healthcare.
Develop innovative methods and algorithms to solve complex NLP problems.
Design and execute experiments to rigorously validate proposed approaches.
Publish findings in top-tier conferences and journals in the field of AI and NLP.
Present research at scientific events and collaborate with the broader AI community.
Provide scientific guidance to inform the development of innovative NLP products.
Stay at the forefront of NLP and GenAI advances to identify new research opportunities.
Mentor and collaborate with other team members to foster a culture of scientific excellence.
Communicate research findings and their implications to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Math, or related field.
Extensive hands-on experience using libraries such as HuggingFace Transformers, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
Applied research background leveraging frameworks such as LangChain to build LLM prototypes, and knowledge of software engineering best practices for production LLM development.
Ability to clearly communicate complex LLM capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with large, real world datasets.
