Google Senior Software Engineering Manager, Vertex, Google Data Center in Warsaw, Poland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Candidates will typically have 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

  • Typically 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Typically have 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

The mission of the Vertex AI Platform on Google Data Center (GDC) team is to introduce cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities. Making it super reliable, performant, cost effective, flexible, and simple for GDC customers. This team will be focusing on bringing the best of Google’s machine learning investments including LLM Serving and Tuning, Translate, Vision AI, Speech AI, TensorFlow, and more along with Cloud and OSS technologies to provide the ML infrastructure, tools and services that powers GDC customers. This opportunity has huge impact potential that lies at the intersection of AI/ML and distributed systems.

  • Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.

  • Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of the teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.

  • Build and motivate a high-functioning team of software engineers with expertise in Vertex AI on GDC.

  • Delegate tasks effectively, empower team members to take ownership, and provide constructive feedback for continuous growth.

  • Guide the design, development, and implementation of scalable and reliable Vertex AI capabilities on GDC.
