Nielsen Senior Staff Network Engineer in Warsaw, Poland
Nielsen is looking for a Senior Staff Network Engineer to join our global network team. This talented individual will assist in the ongoing creation and support of our global network environment and related infrastructure, including the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous future growth of a network that handles traffic from millions of diverse clients, customers, and end-users daily.
Responsibilities
Ongoing administration of our global network, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points. Environments included branch offices, data centers, and the cloud.
Collaborate with team members, other infrastructure teams, and developers to design, plan, and deploy new network solutions and environments
Collaborate with security team to investigate and respond to security incidents.
Actively support and manage services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM, load balancing, and VPNProvide escalation-level network support in both specific and collaborative troubleshooting sessions
Prepare network documentation such as network designs, root cause analysis, maintenance plans, and industry-standard network reports
Flexibility and experience working in a rapidly changing environment which can move from planned and project-based work to troubleshooting or break/fix work
Be prepared to lead local country build out of large office network footprint
Requirements
Proven years of experience as a network administrator or engineer
Bachelor's degree in computer science or the equivalent in work experience and industry certifications
Strong understanding of the issues and challenges around managing and administrating high-availability, high-demand network environments
Working knowledge of common networking topologies and architecture. Strong core knowledge of enterprise and data center principles.
Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum, CI/CD philosophy, and the roles that network infrastructure has in the process
Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
Familiarity with using network tool suites to manage configuration and performance
Experiences with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
