Job Overview

The Assistant Director for GUMC Constituent Engagement has a critical role within the Alumni Relations team. They provide vital support for the overall strategy, implementation, and execution of Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) constituent engagement, with a primary focus on the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Health alumni communities.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support the strategy and execution of constituent engagement for the Medical Center and its schools and units

  • Assist and support volunteer management for key GUMC constituencies including medical reunion classes, alumni boards, and medical students

  • Manage the Dental Alumni Board and engagement efforts for the dental alumni population, including an annual event and two digital communications a year

  • Manage the Medical School Alumni Ambassador group and affiliated programs, engaging the MSAA for student/alumni programming and volunteer opportunities as needed

  • Lead engagement efforts to support the School of Medicine’s 4th Year Class Giving Campaign

  • Manage logistics and communications for the Medical Alumni Board and the Dental Alumni Board

  • Provide support for class ambassadors and other key volunteer groups for the GUMC Constituent Engagement team

  • Provide support for strategic Health and Nursing alumni events

  • Work closely with Alumni Relations and Advancement colleagues to ensure GUMC engagement programs are coordinated and aligned with broader engagement and fundraising goals, and ensure GUMC programs and constituents are well represented in Advancement events and communications.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1-2 years in constituent engagement, alumni relations, peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer management, and marketing/communications; or commensurate skills and experience

  • Experience engaging constituents through strategic programming, marketing, and communications

  • Experience working with donors and/or volunteers

  • A track record of high achievement and meeting or exceeding goals

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Experience and comfort working with complex metrics and analysis

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft and Google applications (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)

  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
