Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences division. Position Description
Advanced Academic Programs invites applications for a program coordinator in the Applied Economics program. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month, renewable faculty position with the academic title of Lecturer or Sr. Lecturer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses and providing administrative support. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in teaching both in-person and asynchronous online courses, working with full-time and part-time graduate students, and engaging with diverse student populations. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in-person classes. The position includes significant collaboration with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, and other Program Coordinators. The expected salary range for this position is $80,200 - $109,000.
The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate - e.g., years in rank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by the University.
Responsibilities
Faculty Responsibilities
Teach (in-person and online) 6 graduate courses per year
Advise students from diverse backgrounds
Providing innovative leadership for curriculum design and new course development
Participating in course and program assessment activities
University service
Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in adjunct faculty hiring, development, and mentoring
Assist in the admissions process
Assist in the planning of onsite and/or remote events and/or seminars
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Economics or in a related field
1-3 years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience
The ability to teach a wide variety of economics courses
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Economics or in a related field
4 or more years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience
1-3 years of economics-related work experience, for example, government service or serving as a consultant with companies or for the government
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience in helping manage a degree or certificate program
Salary: $80,200 - $109,000

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
