Summary: To ensure NCC continues to provide opportunities to the people within the community, this role develops, implements and maintains effective planning and analysis for the Agency, which equips senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to set goals and measure business performance. Additionally, this position assists the Director of Finance with contract bidding and the administration of contracts with funding agencies. The Financial Analyst applies sound accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare reports, prepare and monitor budgets and forecasts; support the preparation of billing rates and contracts with funding agencies, and maintain financial modeling and annual business plan.
Schedule & Location: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, hybrid 2 days in our offices in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Candidates must reside in the MD/DC/VA area.
This position has an annualized salary range of $80,000 - $85,000. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
In coordination with the Director of Finance, prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, cost reports and other reports, and analyzes variances to budgets and prior periods for presentation to senior management, the Board of Directors and committees, Governmental Agencies and external customers
Ensures financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
Assists the Director of Finance with preparation and review of all contracts with various governmental and non-governmental agencies for final approval CEO/COO. Ensures internal and external policies conform to applicable governmental regulations.
Prepares, reviews and submits annual governmental cost reports at the end of each fiscal year by the filing deadline(s)
Assists Director of Finance with annual audit and tax return preparation, in coordination with outside auditors
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years related experience required, with experience in a non-profit entity highly desirable
Self-motivated and able to prioritize work and organize responsibilities
Current knowledge of the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and provisions under OMB Circular A-133, and how they apply to nonprofit organizations
Knowledge of financial and ERP systems – Great Plains experience preferred
