Description
The Genetic Counselor 2 responsible for evaluating and understanding member's risk of inherited medical condition. The Genetic Counselor 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home-office to ensure you and your members have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.
Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite internet service is NOT allowed for this role); and recommended speed for optimal performance from Humana systems is 10M x 1M

Humana is seeking a Genetic Counselor, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining key relationships and work with assigned area to optimize business results.
In this role you will:
Perform genetic testing preauthorization/utilization management across a broad range of disease states
Assist in development and provision of genetic/molecular testing education to internal associates, healthcare providers, and members
Serve as the expert in medical and health administration research for the Clinical Programs
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree of Science in Genetic Counseling
Active license in the state requiring licensure
Board Certified Genetic Counselor
3 -5 years or more of experience in genetic counseling
Proven successful experience in completing efficient health-related research, with associated analysis and conclusions
Excellent organizational skills desired with ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills required
Excellent PC skills (including MS Word & Excel)

3 or more years' experience in a clinical setting
Familiarity with CMS and/or Humana regulatory policies
Health plan experience
