KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Specialist to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to address Data Access, Data Management, and Data Science needs; develop modular code to solve "real" world problems following best practices in the industry

  • Utilize data wrangling tools and coding languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL to extract valuable insights from data through analytics

  • Lead teams in the development of client solutions utilizing data analytics

  • Lead technical process from ideation to delivery: Research, experiment, and utilize leading data methodologies to build pipelines and scalable analytic tools utilizing leading technologies

  • Regularly code peer code reviews to ensure code quality provide expert documentation and provide operating guidance for users of all levels

  • Execute data operations essential for analysis, including tasks such data cleansing, data integration, and data transformation

  • Develop engineering designs / positively impact business performance, translate between business and technical stakeholders

  • Monitor performance and reliability of data systems, identifying / resolving issues while proactively optimizing logic and model performance by code tuning, streamlining, and resource allocation

Qualifications:

  • A minimum five years of Data Engineering / Technical Analytics experience; U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

  • Experience with programming languages (Python, PySpark, and/or SQL preferred) with ability to rapidly ingest, transform, engineer, and visualize data for both ad hoc and product-level data / analytics solutions

  • Experience with data processing and ETL: Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools for data ingestion, integration, and transformation

  • Experience with data modeling and schema design: Knowledge of data modeling principles and experience in designing efficient / scalable data schemas

  • Experience with development tools and team methodologies (Agile, GIT, test driven development, CI/CD release management)

  • Strong understanding of governance, controls, process and procedures, centers of competency, change management, conceptual data modeling, master data management, data standardization and stewardship, information integrity and compliance, and data quality management

  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements

  • Applicant must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance
