This Systems Support Analyst position is located in the Office of Administrative Law Judges.For more information visit:OALJ Responsibilities As a Systems Support Specialist, some of your typical work assignments may include: Providing IT support by assisting administrative law judges with setting up computer hardware in hearing rooms. Providing real-time software technical support during in person and remote administrative hearings. Providing a variety of general IT technical support services to judges, paralegals and law clerks. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. A one-year probationary period may be required. A background investigation is required. Qualifications To view the eligibility and qualification requirements of a Systems Support Specialist, GS-301,please visit:Systems Support Specialist You can qualify based on your education OR one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05level, OR have a combination education and experience. Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties: assisting administrative law judges with setting up computer hardware in hearing rooms; providing real-time technical support during in person and remote administrative hearings; and providing daily real-time IT support to administrative law judges, paralegals and law clerks for software programs and general IT support to troubleshoot issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Based on our current operating status, FERC employees are teleworking as opposed to coming on-site. When it is determined that our agency will be moving to the reopening phase of our Reconstitution Plan, the expectation will be to physically return to the office in Washington, DC. Telework days and any waiting period for eligibility will be determined at that time.
