WGL - Accounting & Finance Internship Program
Are you looking for an exciting paid summer internship experience? Washington Gas is seeking ten super Accounting & Finance Interns to join our team this summer!
As an Accounting & Finance Intern at Washington Gas, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented Finance professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments. Building on your classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to ‘kick-start’ a successful career in Finance!

What You’ll Do:
Be assigned to one of WGL's exciting Finance teams, such as Utility Revenue Accounting, Regulatory Accounting, Internal Audit, Billing & Collections, Income Tax, Property & Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, General Ledger Accounting or FP&A.
Receive hands-on experience with work that is valued by our leadership team.
Be exposed to senior leadership.
Participate in networking events to help build professional relationships throughout the Company.
Collaborate with other interns to provide a formal presentation about your experience at WGL to our senior finance leadership team.
Who You Are:
Current undergraduate student at an accredited institution with a major in Accounting or Finance. Preference will be given to rising juniors and seniors. Accounting majors strongly preferred for accounting internships.
Energetic and ready to tackle new projects and ideas.
Attention to detail is critical, as are strong analytical skills, a strong work ethic, and effective communication skills.
Interested in learning more about the energy industry and gaining real-life experiences.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite; notably Excel, including the ability to manipulate data sets, and perform analysis using formulas and pivot tables.
Location & Other Key Details
This is an 8-week internship from June 9 – August 1, 2024. Offices are closed on July 4th and June 19th.
Internships are located at our Springfield, VA or Washington, DC Wharf corporate office depending on team assignment.
Hours of work are a standard 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday.

The Summer 2025 pay rate is $27 per hour. Please indicate your anticipated graduation (MM/YY) on your resume.
