Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY in the TECHNICAL DIVISION (SP20), REENTRY SYSTEMS BRANCH (SP28) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. Responsibilities You will execute activities such as engineering analysis to assess performance relating to reentry systems throughout all phases of the product life cycle from development through deployment. You will be responsible for overseeing activities with other government agencies regarding nuclear safety and surety. You will manage the formulation and execution of requirements, planning factors, and budgets. You will manage the necessary pertinent efforts under their cognizance, the drafting and execution of the technical and programmatic scope of relevant contractual vehicles, work requests, task orders, and Procurement Requests. You will be responsible for warhead integration within the Sea Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM) program. You will lead a group of engineers that oversee the Requirements generation and flight, and ground test verification and validation activities related to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) certification of the SCLM Warhead. You will liaise, partner with, and support cross discipline teams in the formulation and execution of requirements. You will support teams in the planning factors, and budgets necessary to support design, development, production, and test and evaluation of reentry systems experiments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess. 08XX- Professional Engineering Series: Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Degree: A professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university; OR a degree with curriculum in differential and integral calculus, with additional courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics; or electronics; OR Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Substitution of Education/Experience: A combination of education and experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (a) professional registration, (b) evidence of successfully passing the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination; (c) successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified above; or (d) successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering provided that it included at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. OR 1320 Chemistry Series: A degree in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics; or a combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education OR 1501- General Mathematics and Statistics Series: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position; OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (Mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science) plus additional education or appropriate experience. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-04 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
