Providence Principal Clinical Informatics Specialist RN *Remote* in Washington

Providence Health Plan is calling a Principal Clinical Informatics Specialist RN who will:
Combine advanced clinical nursing skills with technical knowledge to create systems that improve the quality of patient outcomes
Drive Providence Health Plan's clinical data acquisition efforts, with a primary focus on acquisition of electronic medical record data
Possess advanced understanding of how data are generated within electronic medical records and the impact of workflows on downstream data capture; ability to discern clinical quality measurement and the impact of data capture on metric performance; ability to complete data validation reviews independently and document findings in an accurate and concise manner.
Evaluate, categorize, tabulate and analyze new information in order to identify and prioritize relevant data capture opportunities.
Partner closely with key network partners to understand current state workflows
Educate providers on the HEDIS® measure specifications
Possess strong technical knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Reporting, Clinical Quality Measurement, Data Integration, metric evolution
Have advanced knowledge of desktop software applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Tableau, etc.)
Interpret clinical quality measures with a strong understanding of how current state workflows fit (or do not fit) into HEDIS® metrics
Serve as an Informatics subject matter expert with attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skills
Lead the way with development and identification of strategies and best practices
Analyze EHR data to identify areas where care can be improved
Possess a broad knowledge and understanding of the trends and changes taking place in health care, including HEDIS Electronic Clinical Data Systems Measurement and reporting
Conduct primary source verification on clinical data
Facilitate process and program enhancements to support Providence Health Plan's clinical data acquisition program
Promulgate use of evidence-based clinical practice by developing best practices and corresponding performance improvement projects
Serve as a leader applying advanced education and experience to effectively address complex clinical-technical challenges in diverse healthcare delivery environments
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of clinical process and practice standards, patient flow and operational processes
Foster their personal knowledge by keeping abreast of developments in Informatics and industry trends

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
5+ Years of clinical experience in a hospital, clinic or health plan setting
3+ Years of experience with quality measurement (E.G. HEDIS, eCQM, etc.) including data collection and analysis in a hospital, clinic or health plan setting
1+ years of experience working with informatics in a hospital, clinic or health plan setting
RN License - State of Residency: Oregon, Washington, California
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree - Informatics, Information Technology, Public Health or another clinical discipline such as Nursing or another healthcare related field of study
1+ years of Health Plan HEDIS® experience
Informatics certifications or credentialing
Active Clinical Informatics or EHR certification
