The primary focus of the Clinical Manager of Women’s and Children (WIC) services will be to oversee and support all clinical and service programs in the assigned departments including Labor and Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum, Well Baby Nursery and NICU. This role works closely with the dedicated Nursing Professional Development Specialist for the assigned clinical department to support the mission and vision of the institution, ensure strategic direction of the department and overall program, and facilitate quality, patient and family-centered care, outcomes including patient satisfaction of our members.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible for all clinical and business operations in the clinical departments assigned.
Broad leadership responsibilities for business development and strategic growth of the assigned program, operations, personnel management, budget development, and fiscal management.
Drives consistent, program-wide approach across all departments in conjunction with processes and standards set by the WIC leadership.
Oversees LEAN and quality initiatives and fosters involvement of all constituents in rapid process improvements for the assigned division.
Develops and implements operations plans that aligns with the strategic plan.
Collaborates with nursing leadership, Human Resources (HR), and the Center for Nursing Professional Practice and Innovation to assure the appropriate orientation, education and training, credentialing, and continuing professional development of staff.
Selects, develops and retains qualified talent. Mentors and develops staff in a supportive and collaborative manner by assigning accountability, setting objectives, establishing priorities, monitoring progress and evaluating results.
Works collaboratively with the management team and physician leadership, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and meet quality goals and objectives.
Effectively analyzes and utilizes information to develop and support management decisions.
Continuously improves patient satisfaction by providing a safe, efficient, pleasant and accessible patient care environment.
Assists in the development, negotiation, execution, and monitoring of vendor and service contracts.
Creates and encourages a positive team-oriented work environment within and across all units.
Maintains compliance with regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements.
Participates in the evolution and refinement of quality improvement processes.
Performs related duties as required and assigned.
MINIMIUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree required (BSN); a Master’s degree in health care administration or business administration preferred.
Registered Nurse RN License in state of CT
Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in a comprehensive service line business and/or integrated health system.
Advanced skills and training in financial analysis, budgeting, planning, physician practice operations, and relevant computer applications.
Experience collaborating closely with physicians and proven ability to gain trust and credibility.
