Overview
The Vermont Department of Health Division of Substance Use Programs (DSU) is seeking a Public Health Analyst I to develop and maintain data collection and reporting mechanisms that support DSU\'s interdisciplinary, comprehensive, and cohesive public health approach to reduce substance misuse, dependence, and overdose. This position supports critical multi-million-dollar state and federal agreements and the community stakeholders who use the data for decision making, planning, and evaluation.
The person in this position must understand data systems and have knowledge of the interaction between systems, data, and the DSU programs that serve Vermonters. We are looking for someone with the ability to summarize data, use data visualization tools, write clearly and succinctly, and verbally present the information in such a manner that it is clear how the information informs decision making and planning for leadership, program staff, and other stakeholders.
Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Meetings with data users and providers may require some travel, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.
