Amazon Supply Chain Program Manager, ZA Operations in Waterfall City, South Africa

Description

The South African Operations team is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to improve the experience for our African customers. Africa, while relatively small in economic terms today, represents a large and growing consumer market positioned for growth spurred by the increasing productive potential of its young population, rapid adoption of technology and evolving consumer behavior. This role will allow you to work across various internal and external teams to evaluate the customer landscapes, and invent innovative approaches to solve ambiguous problems. This leadership role requires working with cross-functional business and operational leaders globally on a constant basis to develop weekly and peak operations plan, analyze root causes and implement long term solution to supply chain problems, and drive various new initiatives. This position also involves regular communication with senior leadership in various forums to present business proposal. As a result, this position requires advanced data and analytical skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform in highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility of supply chain management, including S&OP, inbound supply chain, transportation planning, delivery experience improvement

  • Steer the fulfillment network on a daily basis concerning operational issues with our fulfillment centers, 3PL providers, selling partners, and other internal / external stakeholders.

  • Lead S&OP process which builds robust forecasting process to provide short to medium-term (13-week) forecast to various operations teams as planning guidance. Also lead cross-functional teams to conduct peak planning.

  • Develop inbound supply chain strategy and build scalable and efficient inbound process through various programs to drive inbound cost improvement, defect reduction, and seller / vendor experience improvement.

  • Represent local country and partner with / leverage other internal resources to improve delivery experience, manage capacity, among other supply chain initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

    • Strong data and analytical skills to develop solutions based on data driven information.
    • Strong working knowledge on Excel, VBA, and SQL.
    • Experience in program management and working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
    • Solid verbal/written communication, positive influencing skills, and sound business judgment.
    • Highly adaptable to a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and ability to perform in the midst of ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
