Red Hat Associate Software Engineer - Hybrid Cloud Console in Waterford City, Ireland

Hybrid Cloud Console (HCC), which is the customer-facing platform for most of Red Hat’s managed cloud services. We are currently working on establishing a common integration fabric and control plane which can be plugged into each Red Hat product or service, as well as consumed by our ISV partners. As an engineer on the team, you will be responsible for building resource models and APIs around the most foundational management requirements, fully integrated with Red Hat's identity and access management framework, including common inventory & common authorization. You'll join an energetic team that fosters continuous learning, career growth, and professional development. You'll have the freedom to rapidly design, secure, build, test, and release groundbreaking services.

What you will do

  • Define, develop and deploy foundational management features

  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for our customers, including product and infrastructure enhancements

  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health

  • Work across many different teams and technologies to tie together existing systems and tools

  • Work with the Quality Engineering team to ensure that features are tested correctly

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline

  • Experience working with Go (preferred), Python, Java or similar language

  • Experience with Git and CI/CD

  • Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work

  • Adept at handling iterative processes and ensuring timely delivery

  • Experience with microservices and containers is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
