Job Summary

Dominion Energy is currently seeking experienced engineers for the Electrical and I&C Systems department in Site Engineering at the Millstone Power Station in Waterford, CT. Positions will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The candidate will fill a position in the Electrical and I&C System Engineering Group. The primary area of focus will be electrical systems engineering in support of operating Millstone Units 2 & 3.

Specific duties include:

  • Monitoring and trending of electrical system health

  • Preparation of engineering technical evaluations

  • Development of maintenance strategies and corrective action plans and supporting development of design change documentation.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

The candidate will work in a broad range of Electrical Power and I&C issues both on the component and system level. Candidates will be expected to have familiarity with nuclear power plant design, including the Electrical Distribution System and or the Instrumentation and Control Systems at the station. A Training program will be provided for the new candidate to obtain a required basic level of knowledge for understanding, plant design basis, operations, maintenances as well as work planning structure, including normal and emergency operating procedures.

There are two positions available.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Engineer II/Engineering Technical Specialist II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Engineer III/Engineering Technical Specialist III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Note: A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the required years of experience. A Master's degree will count as one year toward the years of experience.

Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals; Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position;

Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives;

Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management; Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.);

Planning, organizational and project management skills; Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills; Effective decision making skills; Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing);

Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems; Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; Equally effective working independently or in a team environment; Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.

Education Requirements

Required degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):

Bachelor

Required discipline(s): Engineering, Electrical or I&C preferred.

Engineering Technical Specialist can hold a BS Degree in another technical field OR additional relevant engineering experience.
