MaineGeneral Health Speech Language Therapist - HomeCare (32hr/week) in Waterville, Maine

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's unique needs.

  • Implement treatment plans using a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities. Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Maintain detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and adaptive equipment. Provide guidance and support to help them understand and participate in the treatment process.

  • Supervise clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel, ensuring high-quality care and fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote speech-language health and awareness.

  • Operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business, traveling to patient homes and other locations as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Licensure & Certification: Must hold Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist licensure and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Driver’s License & Record: Possess a valid Maine state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by MaineGeneral Health policy.

  • Additional Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification and an annual Maine Background Criminal Check are required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in home health or a similar setting is preferred, but we welcome new graduates with strong clinical training.
