The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit has a full time Education Programs and Substitute Placement Administrative Assistant opening at the Watsontown Children's Center, Watsontown, PA.  This position will utilize the Frontline Education automated substitute placement system to monitor, track, and secure substitutes for CSIU classroom vacancies resulting from educator and para-educator staff absences.  This position also provides clerical support services and functional operation for the educational programs.   The anticipated start date is August 6, 2024.

Wage: $15.42-18.52 per hour non-exempt full-time position. Position requires working early morning hours starting at 6:00AM until 2:00PM, Monday through Friday, following a 220 day work schedule.  Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Requirements are a High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum one (1) year general office experience required.
  • Proficient computer experience with databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook email), and Cloud-based applications.Also proficient experience with keyboarding/data entry skills.
  • Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. 
  • Experienced in general office procedures, office equipment, and filing systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and detail-oriented. Must be able to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
  • Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
  • Able to establish and maintain good work relations with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze facts, recognize potential problems, and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Receptive to learning new skills and responsibilities as the job requires.
  • Maintain confidentiality and a professionally positive demeanor.
