The Opportunity

This position works out of our Lake County location in the BTS – Corporate Strategy and Solutions organization. The Business and IT Alignment Senior Manager – Procurement is responsible for the Procurement portfolio within Corporate Strategy & Solutions organization. The role influences and shapes the portfolio to align and enhance the organizational strategy, plays a key role in decision making, planning and executing IT initiatives and is responsible for defining and the ultimate delivery of IT solutions. This is achieved through excellent understanding of the business strategies and processes, awareness of the evolution of technologies and understanding of relevant regulations impacting the procurement functional area. This role also provides insight to the business functional teams on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities, proactively identifies areas of opportunity to apply IT for new enablement opportunities, process improvement and cost efficiencies. It harmonizes, motivates and provides development opportunities for team members, including coaching and mentoring.

What You’ll Work On

  • Influence and partner with business leaders (Director, Sr. Director level) to manage and align the IT portfolio with business strategy and priorities. Demonstrates leadership and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.

  • Understand and contribute to the business strategy and translate their priorities and needs into an aligned IT strategy and portfolio of programs, projects and applications.

  • Understand the business processes, challenges and opportunities and recommend solutions assuring fit with business direction, strategy and priorities. Where needed involve IT business consultants and external technology experts.

  • Primarily responsible for successful execution of projects working through providers, including the approval of all project related deliverables from SOWs through System Decommission.

  • Manages IT capacity and review corresponding project demand for solutions and projects across respective domain(s). Ensures alignment with Enterprise service providers. Escalates if Provider is unable to meet demand.

  • Closely partner and collaborate with other Abbott IT teams, and external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels, as well as to support cross-functional and divisional business initiatives, and explore IT synergies and efficiencies.

  • Support the unit IT budget, project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI. Continually look for

  • opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.

  • Possess constant awareness of evolving regulatory requirements to the specific business unit, and influence the IT stakeholders and vendors in addressing these evolutions in the most efficient way.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.- MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of IT or business experience in large or midsized multinational health care organization

  • At least 5 years experience managing people and teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.

  • 5 to 7 Years of experience with soure to pay solutions including; Ariba, Concur, and ERP. applications

  • At least 5 years project management experience, including large-scale IT implementations.

  • Broad IT expertise in various disciplines like system development, IT service management, vendor management and infrastructure.

  • Broad knowledge of Source to Pay IT trends and technologies, including ERP

  • Strong organizational skills, including program/project governance.

  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
