The Senior Director Sales Telecom is responsible for achieving sales budgets, developing suitable sales and marketing strategies in North America. This position will lead and support a Team of Key Account Managers managing key customer relationships and will function as escalation and senior point of contact. This role is accountable for all business-related activities with customers while providing world-class customer support.

This role directs their team to identify and develop opportunities with existing or new accounts, to attain sustainable growth in the Telecom segment. The Senior Director Sales – Telecom is also responsible for coordinating all aspects of Generac transactions with customers (e.g. sales, legal, credit/payment, logistics, OE, and shipment)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience

  • 12 years of sales or marketing leadership experience

  • Travel at least 50% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 12 years of sales or marketing leadership experience in the Telecom segment

  • Experience leading warranties and policy administration

  • Experience with large Telecom carriers/operators

  • Previous experience using SAP

Strategy

  • Identify and develop strategic market opportunities for Generac products

  • Determine strategic development of the Telecom channel

  • Develop suitable strategies to expand business with existing customers and attract new ones

  • Develop strategic relationships with customer key executives and decision makers.

  • Leverage Generac’s full product portfolio and solution ecosystem to create new opportunities with existing and/or new accounts.

  • Develop strategies to improve sales process, account management and dealer support

Management/Training

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved.

  • Engages, coaches and develops the Key Account Manager Team to optimize performance

  • Define product specs and business plan to support new product development proposals.

  • Work with KAMs and Dealers to increase parts and service sales leveraging Generac OEM products and services.

  • Develop and train KAM to identify, assess, attract and negotiate with potential new.

  • Direct and administer sales training in-market

  • Drive directive sales presentations and provide training on new programs and products.

  • Provide world-class customer support

  • Develop overall sales business plans and executive business plans as defined by channel specific marketing programs.

  • Provide reconnaissance of competitors’ influence within territory and develop a plan to counter their influence within assigned territory.

  • Coordinate all aspects of Generac transactions (e.g., sales, legal, credit/payment, logistics, OE, and shipment) with customers.

  • Coordinate marketing activities with customers.

  • Other Duties as assigned
