Job Description Summary
This job focuses on design and development of software for a medical product. This is a hands-on position where you will code, work to own the product design independently and/or work with other team members to contribute to the development of the product. This software architect position is in GE Healthcare’s Invasive Cardiology (ICAR) business that makes Hemodynamic and Electrophysiology recording system Mac-Lab/CardioLab. These systems help in treating the most difficult cardiac conditions through enhanced signal-processing, clinical capabilities and algorithms. By creating smoother workflows and by facilitating more accurate and complete documentation, the Mac-Lab/CardioLab recording systems give the end user data needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

Job Description
Responsibilities
For initial year develop product and subsystem knowledge while executing on software development priorities for product releases.
Understand product design, its sub-systems, and the interrelationship between them while gaining expertise in these subsystems to fully execute in capacity of an architect.
Architect and code to deliver clinical and technical product features.
Lead/participate in technical design discussions or reviews and engage with team for product technical advancements apply existing or new technology to product design.
Understand clinical domain, analyze design, and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state with a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
Work closely with cross-functional teams in requirements gathering and software design.
Interact and work with global teams as part of software development.
Leverage technical and clinical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence.
Provide guidance to a team of 5-10 developers with design architecture and planning of design changes. Seek and provide feedback on design and development.
Assure compliance to quality system and regulatory.
Qualifications/ Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 7 years of experience
Experience in object-oriented design methodology and various programming languages, with over 7-10 years of experience in C++/C# including templates, real-time operation, and multi-threading on windows platform
AWS hands on experience architecting and designing solutions to move products from on premises to cloud
Experience and thorough understanding of network protocols and web services
Experience with using tools such as GIT for configuration management
Desired Qualification
Masters in computers science
Experience in healthcare domain developing software solution and architecting design of medical product
Over 15 years of industry experience with software development using C++, C# or other object-oriented programming language
Background in design and development of analog and digital hardware platform
AWS solutions architect associate certification
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with Microsoft IIS web services
Knowledge of scripting language like Python
