CDS Life Transitions Human Resources Assistant in Webster, New York

Summary:

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resource Department. Duties include providing excellent customer service for internal and external recipients, maintaining and updating employee files, assisting with reporting and clerical duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, general correspondence, copying, filing and any other duties relevant to the position as approved by supervisor

  • Accurately maintain confidential Personnel files, including processing documents in the electronic file system (Docuware)

  • Provide information as needed to employees, department heads, and outside agencies

  • Maintain ADP HR information system

  • Maintain database of drivers for the NYS License Notification Service (LENS)

  • Provide administrative assistance to HR and Learning and Development team

  • Process payroll change notices and union wage increases

  • Process department invoices, insuring supporting documentation where applicable

  • Process termination, benefit letters, and other Human Resource correspondence as appropriate.

  • Serve as scribe, as requested, at all HR team and HR related meetings

  • Assist with preparation for new employee orientation

  • Maintain building access system

  • Assist with employee engagement events and related activities

  • Respond to employment verification, unemployment, reference checks and legal requests for information

  • Act as back up to front desk greeters, when needed

  • Ensure Agency compliance with mandatory trainings per regulatory requirements

  • Perform all other duties relevant to the position as requested

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and motivate others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient in time-management skills

  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft applications

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements highly beneficial.

    Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

  • Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates knowledge of Human Resources.

  • Experience with ADP preferred

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit continuously

  • Ability to reach above shoulder level

  • Ability to turn/twist upper body

  • Ability to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboarding

    The listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
