Job Description

The Sr. Application Engineer provides high level of technical sales support and product support to sales representative and for customers in all phases of the sales process. In addition to supporting the sales team and customers, the Sr. Application Engineer will assist product management by providing technical and market intelligence during all phases of the product life.

Job Duties

  • High level resource to the Sales force with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment and methods (Ultrasound Phased Array and Eddy Current).

  • As Sr. Engineer handle the most complex issues/applications and serve as an escalation resource of difficult problems for Applications Engineers Scientists and Technical Support Specialists.

  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers and technical support specialists.

  • Work on in-house applications and write feasibility studies.

  • Travel to customer sites for troubleshooting demonstration evaluation and testing of specific parts/applications.

  • Develop and provide training (internal and/or external) on systems and advanced products.

  • Can include up to 3-5 days of on-site support involving systems products and customer specific applications.

  • Write technical specifications during the proposal process.

  • Author and present technical papers at major conferences, tradeshows or online (videos and webinars)

  • Field customer calls and help diagnose and troubleshoot problems over phone and via video calls.

  • Travel throughout USA with occasional travel to Latin America and Canada.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • BS degree in Electronics Physics or other applicable technical field is required OR equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) 8+ years of experience with customer support

  • Experience in computer applications that may include remote control of customer's computer to initiate support.

Skills:

  • High degree of computer proficiency

  • A quick learner for both hardware and software use and functionality.

  • Must have excellent verbal and communications skills.

  • Must have logical troubleshooting abilities.

  • Must be able to function well both in a group and as an individual contributor.

  • Must have a strong commitment to teamwork.

  • Has the ability to assist and mentor more junior employees.

  • Must be able to visualize problems and effectively communicate complex tasks.

  • Travel required.
